Most states limited the use of the money raised for the acquisition, protection, maintenance, and enhancement of waterfowl habitat and associated wetlands. This also includes: wetlands, tributaries, march areas and access sites for public use. Some allocate a percentage of the annual revenue to go to qualified non-profit organizations.
